"The Arsenal"

A personal page dedicated to my outlet of love and frustration.

Well we all see them once in a while, and they make life very frustrating. I am talking about people who drive under the speed limit in area's that you cannot pass them in. While on occasion you will find one that will get over and let the faster traffic pass (usually helps if you are driving a rather large rig like a Ford F250 or a Dodge Ram.

I was stuck behind a nice looking toyota pathfinder doing 40 to 45 mph in a 55 zone. I was not in a hurry or anything but it still felt like it was going to take me all day just to get there. I would have had no quarrel if he did do the speed limit but this guy was going back and forth, from 55 back down to his norm of 40 to 45 mph.

It was a nice day, a little cold but there was not a cloud in the sky. And who do you guess was behind the wheel of this slow moving SUV? A little ole lady who was on her way back from grocery shopping, some old married couple enjoying the day, with no where in particular to go, or a young man or woman who have just recieved their license to drive about 2 days prior? None of the above.

A business man of asian decent and his wife were in the car. Now what compelled this man to be driving so slow was up to me. There is one other item that I have to include into this discussion though. We are on Highway 18 in Oregon.

Those of you around that area know this road well and the dealings that have been going on with it. For those of you who don't know, this is probably the most dangerous stretch of road in Oregon. Not a week goes by that life flight does not get called to an accident here. One of the main reasons of these accidents are because of people passing others.

I would have to put my 2 cents in on the fact that some of these people are the ones not even driving the speed limit and the person behind gets fed up with them, tries to pass, and ends up in an accident. If you know of someone who has a habit of driving slower than the posted speed limit, please ask them that when they are on the highway, get over if someone wants by, it doesn't take that long and you may save a life.
